[ElectroHouse] #4 in Electro House Charts "Beats Inside My Head Donald (Glaude and Revolvr Remix)"

Donald Glaude and Revolvr have taken this Scooter & Lavelle track and added some banging polytechnic glory to it. Reminisant of the break beat sounds usually associated with the likes of Wolfgang Gartner and Deadmu5, the boys have created a raging tune here, helped along by Sue Cho‘s (from Porter Robinson’s “Hello”) catchy vocals. Buy on Beatport

[Rock, Hiphop] Black Keys get down with MCs for a colab album and a new album with Dangermouse

This album "Blakroc" may be old news, but I just found it and so far most of the album sounds decent. I found it interesting how they documented the project on www.blakroc.com. There's all sorts of videos and pictures of the whole thing going down.

Here's one of the tracks of the self titled Blakroc album.

The Black Keys newest LP, "Brothers" is co-produced with Dangermouse and features a new sound that caters to a wider demographic. Heres one of the new hit singles off this album.

Dangermouse seems to have the musical Midas touch, from producing the Gorillaz album "Dare" to the Collaboration with The shins, James Mercer on "Broken Bells". Both of which received awards.

[Dance] Girl Unit blows em' away with "Wut"

This release was being proclaimed single of the year by some of the most influential figures in bass music before it was even released. After already making quite a splash with ‘I.R.L’, London’s Girl Unit drops an atomic bomb with ‘Wut’ that incinerates his already high standards and sweeps the ashes away in forceful gusts.

[ElectroHouse] Eighteen year old Porter produces this beast

Porter Robinson, primarily an electro producer/DJ, still attends high school in his hometown of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, although he is currently scheduled to perform at several major music festivals in 2011 including: Ultra Music Festival, South by Southwest, Beyond Wonderland and Nocturnal Festival. His first single, "Say My Name", was an enormous success, landing at #1 on Beatport's Electro-House chart. Porter has been commissioned for official remixes by Avicii (Ministry of Sound), Spencer & Hill and Innerpartysystem. As a DJ, he has toured internationally and performed alongside acts including Skrillex, Tiesto, Moby, Afrojack, Dada Life, Bart B More, Felguk and Tommy Lee. Here is his latest track "The Wildcat".

[Minimal] Some head-bobbin minimal from one of Germany's most important femal DJ/Producers

Monika Kruse has a long history in the Electronic music scene. She started her career working for record labels then progressed to DJ'ing, playing for her first time in a Munich club called "Babalu Bar". In 2000 she founded her most ambitious project "No Historical Backspin",influenced by the constant violent crimes, beatings against foreigners. She decided that Electronic music must take a stand and show that tolerance and diversity is a fundamental part of the Techno & House Culture. In 2008 she released her album Changes of Perception which included this particular track (along with a video).
Here's Monika Kruse´s "Morgana"

[Breaks] A Rel1 Re-Rub on a new chrizz Luvly song

Well just as rad tunes are able to be produced, Rel1 is able to re-rub, re-dub, and re-fix them. Not only is Rel1's work plentiful and wicked, it's also free to download off of soundcloud. If you haven't treated yourself to any of his work yet, it's about time.

[Rock] Radiohead – The Universal Sich

20110329 211547 [Fresh] Radiohead The Universal Sich
British rock legends Radiohead have been an influential force in music for over 20 years. Now they’ve turned their attentions to the glamorous world of publishing, and today have released ‘The Universal Sigh’, a ‘newspaper’ that centres on culture. ‘The Universal Sigh’ features art, poetry and short stories as chosen and curated by the band, and is available in select major cities all over the world. And if that wasn’t enough, Radiohead are celebrating Record Store Day (April 16), and they’re doing it in style. A UK-exclusive 12″ single will be released, containing two new songs, and is limited to only 2000 copies.

[TechHouse] So Shifty - Lift Up Dat (Sharkslayer Remix)

So Shifty - Lift Up Dat (Sharkslayer Remix) by SHARKSLAYER

I'm usually not too big into tech-anything, but this remix is more complex and has a catchy little synth. Check out this Finnish Producer.

[Breaks] Aggresivnes - Avalanche (Destroyers Remix)

Aggresivnes - Avalanche (Destroyers Remix) by Elektroshok Records

This is a pretty cool breaks remix... except for one thing that bugs me. At the end of the drum loop or at the end of the phrase theres a variation of beat and I don't think that it's conducive to the flow of the song... but that's just me.

[ElectroHouse] Factorfunk & Physical Bross Ft. Bassnight vs. Planet Funk - Chase the Sun (FREE DOWNLOAD)

Yes, this stuff is on point. Excellenct production value, should be a banger, and with a free download you can't not get this.

[Movie] Banksy Exit Through the Gift Shop

This is the inside story of Street Art - a brutal and revealing account of what happens when fame, money and vandalism collide. Exit Through the Gift Shop follows an eccentric shop-keeper turned amateur film-maker as he attempts to capture many of the world's most infamous vandals on camera, only to have a British stencil artist named Banksy turn the camcorder back on its owner
with wildly unexpected results.

One of the most provocative films about art evermade, Exit Through the Gift Shop is a fascinating studyof low-level criminality, comradeship and incompetence. By turns shocking, hilarious and absurd, this is anenthralling modern-day fairytale... with bolt cutters.

[Live] Some live stuff from an amazing group of artists.

I've been a fan of Nu:Tone and Natalie Williams for a little while now and when I heard that they came together to perform some of the songs they've made, live on BBC Radio 1, with Logistics (another terrific producer) and a few other talented artists, I had to check it out. You can catch it here:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/b00zlfnp

To catch the Live action skip ahead to 1:00:30

Theres also some interesting new Dubstep on after the Nu:Tone part.

[ElectroHouse] If you haven't heard this monster track, you probably should.

Mord Fustang (from Plasmapool records) throws down this banger with style. Big anthemic chords and chunky slower beats give this the hallmark of a monster hit in the making.

This guy came out of nowhere and can't be stopped.

[DnB] DnB + some sick nature footage = much win

nature + DnB = win

[DnB] London Elektricity out of thier lul with this deep ocean DnB track.

Finally a new song from London Elektricity!
This incredible 12" release marks the first London Elektricity release for over two years and is the first single to be taken from his highly anticipated forthcoming album 'Yikes!' which is due out at the end of April.

[Dubstep] Burial is set to drop his first original solo material in four years.

UK producer Burial is set to drop his first original solo material in four years on Monday, in form of the 3-track ‘Street Halo 12″ EP’ via Hyperdub Records. Kode9 and Benji B somewhat taint the two tracks which premiered on Radio 1 last night, but in the last few hours an MP3 of track ‘NYC’ (rumoured to be 20 minutes in length) has emerged to complete the set. The below version is only 7 minutes, but whether this is the one which will be on the shelves on Monday, or whether it is even the actual track “NYC” still remains to be seen. Whatever the below MP3 is, its Burial without a doubt, and makes for a lengthy down-tempo flavour of what is to drop next week.

[Dubstep] Bang Bang remix by White Noize

Nancy Sinatra's song "Bang Bang" made famous by the Kill Bill movies, was originally released by Sonny & Cher in 1966. The man responsible for the remix is 22-year-old Emanuel Bender (White Noize), who tackles films, pop and hip-hop to create electro/dubstep works with upbeat tempos and dance-floor energy. The beat that's created for this song is more dancy than most dubstep with a funky synth and a house style bass at some parts. The wobble is not so obnoxious that it overwhelms the original music in the track making for a more whole remix that has replay value.

[UKFunky] Heres a duo to look out for.

I could of labeled this to be post-dubstep, dub-house, garage, or 2step.
But it doesn't really matter because it's just good.

Warrior One are 2 people. One of them is called 4. Both are 29. One lives East London. One lives West. One is from Dublin. One of them isn't. One is the producer. One is the reducer. Warrior One is a master yoga pose dedicated to Virabhadra, the name of a fierce warrior incarnation of Shiva, who had a thousand heads, a thousand eyes, and a thousand feet, and wields a thousand clubs whilst wearing a tiger's skin. Deadly.
Warrior One give this track some of their trademark ravement vibrations.

[Jungle] heres a fresh new jungle track with a remix from some top acts!

Fresh jungle business out of the hands of Matt Scott (A.k.a RacknRuin), the new skool jungle god, remixed by 2 masters of the breakbeat & d'n'b world, ed solo & deekline, with added fresh vocals from a relative newcomer Jessie Ware who has lent her vocal skills to tracks by SBTRKT & Sampha already. A sick jungle vocal roller that will get you skankin big time.

[HipHop] Black Star, De La Soul and Rakim all performing in one venue....

The Science of Speech is coming to the HMV Apollo Hammersmith on Tuesday 10th May 2011 with tantalising bill of hip hop royalty.

For one night only Black Star's Mos Def and Talib Kweli reunite in the UK for the first time since 1999. De La Soul bring their snappy brand of old skool cool to the fore and Rakim, widely respected as one of the best rappers of all time, completes the line-up.

[Dubstep] The latest installment of the prestigious fabriclive mix CD

The latest installment of the prestigious fabriclive mix CD series is handed over to the young but more than capable hands of David Kennedy, who takes the helm under both his Ramadanman and Pearson Sound monikers. Crafting together a well thought out selection of forward-thinking bass music, the mix goes some way to showcasing why Kennedy's name has been on everyone's lips of late. Featuring a number of tracks from himself and various Hessle Audio affiliates, he also slots in outstanding tracks from Julio Bashmore, A Made Up Sound, Jam City and Die Barbie Musik Kollektive amongst others, taking a journey through mutant strains of house, dubstep and grime. While the idea of a mix CD is on its way to becoming obsolete in the face of the endless free mixes available on the internet, this is still interesting enough to justify shelling out for.

Heres a half hour taste...

[Dubstep] Distance, a Dubstep founding father produces this banger.

Distance was operating bass-music in London before the term dubstep was made and is a constituent part of its genesis. He is a part of that incredibly important class of early 2000. In 2011, Distance has made a massive step in his career as producer by signing to Island Records. His first release on their label, Falling featuring Alys Be, is set to be released exclusively to iTunes on March 21st, with a full digital and vinyl release coming on April 18th, which is partnered with a remix from Photek.

[GlitchHop] An amazig remix.

Heres The Glitch Mob's epic remix of Nalepa's "Monday"

The Glitch Mob is a three-piece electronic group from Los Angeles, composed of Ed Ma (edIT), Justin Boreta (Boreta) and Josh Mayer (Ooah). The group, originally a four-piece including Kraddy, was formed in 2006 within the burgeoning Los Angeles bass-driven ‘beat’ scene. The Glitch Mob made a name for themselves playing live, choosing to perform with laptops and MIDI controllers.

Yeah, here it is... Small Town Djs and Nick Thayer's remix of Chilly Gonzalez's "Never Stop"

[Event ] Ramadanman, Zed Bias & Distal Letting loose at Lucky!

Here we go! These guys are going to throw down some serious tunes!

RAMADANMAN aka Pearson Sound, is a dubstep producer from London, England, associated with the label Hessle Audio. Born David Kennedy and hailing from North London, he began DJing at age 14 and producing at age 15. He later went to university in Leeds, England, and became involved with the dubstep scene there. In 2006, he started his own label, Ramadanman, and made his production debut with the two-track digital single "Dynamic Balancing/Hungarian Skank," followed by a couple other releases on the label. Wost recentlyHe won the Dubstep Forum awards of 2011 for best producer.

ZED BIAS aka Maddslinky, is best known for his single "Neighbourhood", which reached #25 in the UK charts in July 2000. He has remixed artists ranging from Gabrielle, Kosheen, Maxim, Pharoahe Monch and the Streets. He runs the Sidestepper Recordings label. Zed Bias' releases which explore a more experimental or progressive side of the 2-step garage sound have been hailed as a crucial element in the establishment of dubstep as a definable sound or genre.

DISTAL aka Michael Rathburn, combines time travel with dance music, breaking down the more ambiguous sounds from the past and fusing them with thoughts and equations of the future. Because of this non-traditional approach to Dubstep, Funky and Techno, Distal has been forced to take a few risks, but along the way has created a very specific and friendly sound for himself. Bridging the gap between techno, breakbeat hardcore, house, funk, gangster rap, and even pop culture, is a tricky formula to entertain.

with support from Eames & Rhythmicon

These guys are playing at Lucky Bar on Friday April 29th with doors at 10:00 Pm

Lucky can build a good line up aswell so don't do too much pre-partying.

THERE WILL BE LIMITED PRESALE TICKETS FOR THIS JAM.

As everyone should know by now Wolfgang is on his North American tour and Victoria made the list!

In less than three years the producer and DJ known as Wolfgang Gartner has gone from strength to strength, with eight #1 tracks on Beatport (including the site’s best-selling track of 2009) and remixes for A-list artists (Black Eyed Peas, Timbaland, Britney Spears), all lauded by peers such as David Guetta, Tïesto, and Pete Tong. No, with the forename Wolfgang, Gartner’s success shouldn’t surprise anyone. And yet it does.
